I'm in Guatemala!

Hello!

I arrived in Guatemala with Papa Pastor (Jason) on Monday night. We were exhausted because we left the US at 6am and arrived in Guatemala at 6:30pm (4:30pm back home) and finally got to Antigua at 9pm so we grabbed dinner and slept as soon as we could. We woke up around 7am Antigua time the next morning then we went to Centro Linguistico Maya to finalize my homestay with my family and my class schedule. I’m going to school Monday-Friday from 8a-1pm. I’ve finished 3 days of Spanish and I’m living with an amazing family! The picture above is the inside of my family's house. When you first walk into the house you go into the living room then you walk a few feet to be outside again where all of the rooms surround the outside courtyard area.

I love love love the family that I'm staying with! They’re professionals at hosting students because they’ve done it for 30 years and they are so kind and open to teaching me more Spanish as well as more about their culture. The lady of the house was actually born and raised in Santa Maria de Jesus (where I’ll be serving). She moved to Antigua when she was 21 years old and has been here for 40 years. This is random but I feel the need to tell you again that they are so sweet! They’ve been feeding me well and there is a German girl living in the room next to mine - she goes to the same Spanish school.

So yes! Everything is going well and I’m praising God for this calling and His providence. I’m excited to utilize my Spanish skills to serve the girls and the community of Santa Maria de Jesus. Thank you to everyone who has decided to join me in this ministry; whether through financial partnership or prayer - thank you so so much! I am not 100% funded, I’m about 25% away from my goal, so if you would like to jump on board with the ministry that God will carry out through my time here, you can go to https://app.etapestry.com/hosted/MissionImpact/OnlineGiving.html
