Only In Guate!

Just to show you a little bit of the uniqueness of Guatemala!
These are probably not all completely unique to Guatemala, but they're different from the States!

Clothes (huipiles) are handmade
and they can indicate where someone is from!

NPO Restaurant at Lake Atitlan

Riding in the bed of a truck is normal
 and widely accepted, but...

... it's illegal to honk your horn, and this
green sign says so!

Lighting the stove with a match!
Every time!

Buying/replacing a propane tank so that
this old stove works!

Bleaching your fruit/veggies to steer clear
of parasites. This literally smells like bleach.

The Farmer's Market!

Buy something, get the taped item for free!
Mayo + Crayons. Flour + Protractors.
Cheese slices + A Pen. Kids sunscreen + tampons.

More super cool deals at the grocery store!
Oreos + sardines. Hotdogs + Pencil.
Coffee grounds + Jalapenos. Cooking Oil + Fly Swatter!

Dodging dog poop while walking around
is also very common!

Showering under exposed wires!
Electricity + water!
Only got shocked once ;)

Beautiful scenery and ruins!

2 of the 3 volcanos that can be seen from Antigua!

The Pila in Antigua, where some come to do laundry.

Super fun and cute latte art!

Some things not pictured:
- Can't use the tap water to cook/bake or drink!
- Can't flush toilet paper down the toilet. haha
- City busses shooting out clouds of black smoke. No smog checks lol

I know that some of you haven't visited Guatemala, so thought it was a fun idea to show you some differences between Guate and the U.S.  :)
